Brannon and Christie Soileau, owners of BOSS Bagel in San Antonio, are both graduates of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. In their 25 years together they have worked at some of the country’s top kitchens and owned acclaimed restaurants in the Midwest. When Brannon was offered a teaching position at the CIA’s main NY campus, they sold their restaurants and moved to upstate New York where Brannon taught for 7 years. The school asked him to transfer to San Antonio and he and Christie were happy to move out of the snow and to nearby Texas family. In 2017 the pair teamed up on a restaurant again, opening BOSS Bagel and enjoying the culinary hustle-bustle once again. BOSS (Bagels On Southern Soil) is a cozy breakfast and lunch café featuring Brannon’s culinary magic of hand-rolled, boiled, wood-fire baked bagels with uncommon house-made schmears and artisanal meats and fish. Coupled with Christie’s friendly hospitality up front, BOSS has quickly become a neighborhood favorite.
